Strange Attraction. (from November 1999)
On this latest business trip, I didn't have much opportunity to get out and about. I really wanted to get some photos of me in my latest outfits, and as you know, that can be very time consuming. But I did decide to take a quick tour of the hotel where the convention was, before retiring for the night.
I was wearing my new (and only) pant suit, which I thought of as very business-like, and somewhat sexy at the same time because it is low cut in the front. As I mentioned before, I really enjoy showing my new cleavage - it makes me feel very feminine and does wonders for my self confidence. It was after midnight by this stage and there were not many people around as I stepped out of the elevator, but as a self defense mechanism, I headed for the bank of phones where I could rest and turn away from the people who were around. (By pretending to be on the phone it gave me a chance to survey my surroundings and muster my confidence to move on, into the unknown.)
.
There was a tall, somewhat over-weight guy on the phone at the opposite end of the row of phones, and the look he gave me had a very unnerving effect . My first thought was not that I had been read, but worse, that somehow he recognized me. My heart skipped a beat or two. I was sure I didn't know who this person was, so I reasoned that that made it less likely that he knew who I was. What ever the reason for his look, I felt it was definitely time to move on, and quickly. I hung up the phone and headed for the door that lead out to the pool area. As the automatic door closed behind me I breathed a sigh of relief. Then in a scene from a Hollywood movie, I turned around and the guy was right next to me!
I jumped noticeably and froze, not knowing what to do next. He didn't say a word, he just stared at me. After a second or two I had regained some of my composure. Despite the late hour, there were still people around, so I wasn't overly concerned for my safety, but I didn't know what this guy was up to. In my best (and steadiest) femme voice, I said something about it being cold and I was going back to my room; and added the very firm "Good Night!" at the end. I walked back into the hotel, with him right behind me. I stopped at faced him. At this point I felt I needed an added emphasis, so I dispensed with any attempt to feminize my voice, and with a little extra bass than my normal male voice, I repeated, "I said, Good Night!"
He looked genuinely shocked, then embarrassed. And it was then that I realized that he had not read me after all! Needless to say, he quickly disappeared and I high tailed it back to my room on the double, looking over my shoulder all the way to make sure I was not being followed. It took me a few minutes to get my pulse back to normal, and calm down.
