Here's a good tip from Joanne
Cross. I'm sure you've noticed when it comes time to remove lipstick, especially
the more saturated colours, that your lips have become stained from the pigment,
and it's very difficult to get rid of it when you need to return to Drab1.
Well, don't despair, get yourself a good lip-care product, like Chapstick. Not
only does it prevent chapping AND give you that lipstick feeling (I've cut mine
to the shape of a lipstick) and used as a base under my favourite lipstick... it
makes removal of the real lipstick a breeze, and it leaves no trace of the
pigment at all).
I certainly don't mean this as
any kind of advertisement, but there's a relatively new product (March 2002)
from Blistex called "Silk & Shine". It's a clear, lip
moisturizer stick, with a tantalizing sheen. Mechanically, it works just like a
lipstick, which is part of the appeal for me. (As opposed to the Chapstick type
where the small cap comes off to expose the moisturizer.) With Silk & Shine
the large cover comes off and you twist the base to get the moisturizer to rise
out of the container.
I've been very impressed with
it from the perspective of both keeping my lips from drying out in the cold
winter weather, and the glossy sheen it gives my lips. Just a hint of being a
feminine product, yet easily wearable in drab mode. There is more information on
the Blistex site at:
