What's in a Name?

There are so many names to choose from, and choosing one for myself was no easy matter. Though I have to say, it was nice to have the option.

In the end, I chose Jennie in honour of someone who was a very good GG friend of mine. She was quite tom-boyish in a lot of ways, and yet could be the consummate lady when the occasion called for it. She was tall (the same height as I am!), and athletic, and from the moment I first saw her, I was totally captivated by her easy manner, strong feminine features and her infectious laughter. She was all the things I would wish to be if I were a real woman.

As a middle name, I have always liked Fiona. It harkens back to my roots, and is neat and tidy.

The "Jorgensen" surname was an easy choice, given that I'd admired Christine Jorgensen since I first saw the movie of her life story. She was a truly courageous woman! (See below)
