I am fortunate, at least I
consider myself fortunate, in that I've had my ears pierced for a long time -
long before my interested in cross-dressing came to the surface. Because the
little piercings have been there so long, I can go without wearing earrings for
weeks at a time. (This is useful because it means that I don't have to wear
earrings while in male mode, which for work, might be considered a little
inappropriate) Although the holes are, for the most part, barely noticeable,
after wearing pierced earrings for an extended period, the holes do become more
pronounced. But within 24-hours of taking the earrings out, the holes usually
return to their hardly noticeable state. Having pierced ears definitely allows
me a much wider variety of earrings from which to choose. I'd strongly recommend
it to any of you girls out there.
Being able to wear pierced
earrings adds a whole (no pun intended) extra feminine dimension to that aspect
of jewelry. (If you're interested, I can tell you the technique I used so that
most people didn't notice while I was going through the obligatory 6-8 weeks
healing period after having my ears pierced initially. Email me and I'll share
it with you.)
Recently, I was looking for a way to give the appearance of having double
piercings in each ear - a
very trendy look these days, and one I happen to like a lot. Not wanting to have
my ears pierced again, I came up with the following technique - which seems to
work quite well.
Take an old/cheap pair of pierced stud earrings. I got mine at one of the mall
costume jewelry stores - cost $4.00. These could be simple gold ball studs or
faux diamond (CZ), it doesn't matter), and clip the posts off. File any
remaining part of the posts flat, leaving only the little ball of the stud
itself. The next step is to take a tiny (and I do mean tiny) spot of super glue
- about the size of the large end of a pin,
and use this to attach the ball in the correct position on the ear lobe. I have
found that using a pair of eye lash tweezers helps to precisely position the
ball. In my case, since I already have both my ears pierced once, I use it to
give the illusion of multiple piercings. When it comes time to remove the studs,
gently pull them off. In my experience, removing the studs is not too difficult
as long as the amount of
glue you used to attach them was very small. (The worst that happens is that the
very fine hair fuzz that covers your ear lobe may come off with the stud; but
it's not noticeable. Even the tiniest spot of super glue holds the small studs
firmly in place - so don't worry about them falling off.)
