I'm sure all of us have a mental
picture of the "ideal" face or figure that, if we had access to some magic
potion, we'd like to be transformed into. Well, for myself, I fantasize about
looking like Veronica Hamel.

"Veronica who?"
Veronica Hamel. For those of you who don't
remember back to the Eighties, she was the actress who played the assistant
District Attorney in the very popular U.S. television police drama, "Hill Street
Blues". I was mesmerized by her amazing facial features, the chiseled bone
structure and the always demure, serious looks. In her performances, she always
hinted that there was a fun-loving extrovert bubbling just under the
surface, and she sometimes struggled to keep herself under control. That aspect of her character reminded me a lot of who I felt I was
inside. I identified strongly with the dichotomy between the outward appearance
and the inner self. On a few occasions, the script writers allowed her to
show her true self, and the transformation was a joy to behold.
All these years later, I still
think that she has one of the most strikingly beautiful faces of any woman I've
ever seen. Obviously I don't think that I look anything like her, but as I said,
if I could choose any face to represent my innermost feminine self, it would be
the face of Veronica Hamel. (I
particularly liked this photo of Miss Hamel because it really emphasizes that
incredible bone structure. Great lighting, and interesting colorization by the
photographer). If anybody knows of additional photos of Miss Hamel, I'd love to
get the URL. - Jennie
